Thomas F. Brier was named chief investment officer of the Pennsylvania State Employees' Retirement System, Harrisburg, said Pamela Hile, spokeswoman for the $28 billion pension fund.
Mr. Brier replaces Anthony S. Clark, who resigned Dec. 31, 2013.
Mr. Brier has been serving as acting CIO since the PennSERS board appointed him to the position in March. PennSERS hired Korn/Ferry International in July to conduct a national executive search to fill the position.
