Damon Williams and Alex Khein were named co-CEOs at RBC Global Asset Management, said company spokesman Matthew Gierasimczuk.
Beginning May 1, they will replace current CEO John Montalbano, who will take on a new role as vice chairman of RBC Wealth Management.
They will report to George Lewis, group head of RBC Wealth Management & RBC Insurance.
It was Mr. Montalbano’s decision to initiate the transition of positions, as he has expressed an intention to pursue other interests both personally and professionally in 2015, Mr. Gierasimczuk said.
Mr. Williams is head of RBC GAM's global institutional business and president of Phillips, Hager & North Investment Management, which RBC acquired in 2008. He will continue in that role.
Mr. Khein is a partner and CEO of BlueBay Asset Management, which RBC acquired in 2010. He will remain as partner and CEO of BlueBay.
RBC GAM has more than C$350 billion ($307 billion) in assets under management.
