Jo Taylor was named managing director of Europe, the Middle East and Africa investments at the Ontario Teachers’ Pension Plan, Toronto, said spokeswoman Deborah Allen.
The position is new. As managing director of EMEA investments, Mr. Taylor will assume “oversight for the full cycle of opportunity origination, analysis, value creation and execution of investment activities across asset classes,” according to a news release. He will also become a member of the pension fund’s investment committee.
Mr. Taylor previously served as vice president of the pension fund’s private capital investments and will continue to oversee private capital and private equity investments in his new role. He will also serve as head of the pension fund’s London office as it expands to accommodate other asset classes.
The pension fund has approximately C$140.8 billion ($123.6 billion) in assets.
