Utah Retirement Systems, Salt Lake City, is searching for a deputy chief investment officer, spokesman Brian Holland said.
Larry Powell resigned as deputy CIO of the $26.2 billion pension fund in March. Mr. Holland declined to comment on the reason for Mr. Powell’s departure. Mr. Powell’s duties are currently being handled internally, Mr. Holland said.
At the time, Daniel D. Andersen, executive director said Mr. Powell would not be immediately replaced because pension fund officials were formulating a five-year plan to review all parts of the operation.
The selected candidate will assist CIO Bruce Cundick in performing “a variety of administrative and managerial duties related to planning, organizing and directing the investment functions of Utah Retirement Systems,” according to a job posting on URS’ website.
The search is being handled internally.
The deadline for applications is Dec. 16. Interviews are set to begin in January, and a hiring decision could be made in February, Mr. Holland said.
