U.S. equities returned 2.4% in November, as measured by the Russell 3000 index. The index gained 2.6% year-to-date through November.
REITs added to their already massive gain for 2014. The FTSE NAREIT All REITs index returned 2.3% for the month, bringing that index's 11-month gain to 25.8%.
Investment-grade and high-yield bonds diverged in November – the Barclays U.S. Aggregate index gained 0.7%, while the Barclays U.S. Corporate High Yield index fell 0.73%.
The Bloomberg Commodity index fell 4.1% in the month as West Texas Crude dropped nearly 18%.
