Sandro Pierri will leave Pioneer Investments as CEO next year, said a spokeswoman for the firm.
Mr. Pierri will leave Pioneer on Jan. 31. The spokeswoman said a “formal determination” will be made on a permanent replacement for Mr. Pierri after his departure. She declined to comment further.
However, one source familiar with the situation said it is anticipated that Giordano Lombardo, deputy CEO and global chief investment officer, will take on the CEO role once Mr. Pierri departs.
Mr. Pierri was CEO for 2½ years.
