The $12.6 billion pension fund committed $50 million to NGP Natural Resources XI, a private equity fund managed by NGP Energy Capital Management that focuses on the development of crude oil and natural gas. It is the first time the pension fund has committed to an NGP fund.
The pension fund also committed $50 million to Francisco Partners IV, a technology buyout fund. The pension fund previously committed up to $40 million to Francisco Partners III in January 2010.
Also, the pension fund made a follow-on commitment of $10 million in co-investments to Green Equity Investors VI, a private equity fund managed by Leonard Green & Partners. The pension fund originally committed up to $50 million to the fund in September 2011.
