Chicago-based real estate money manager Kensington Realty Advisors Inc. is a serious firm with a wicked sense of humor.
Included on its website is a page of jokes proving that musicians and lawyers are not the only fodder for hilarity.
I inserted the real estate humor section as a fun way to drive traffic to the site. It quickly became a heavily hit page. (Not sure if that's a good thing!), James S. Lee, Kensington's senior principal, said in an e-mail.
Kensington's executives did not stop there. Under the jokes section is the purported corporate travel policy. The policy suggests hitchhiking as employees' primary mode of transportation when on business trips, offering up company-provided reflective vests.
The policy also urges employees to spend the absolute minimum on meals, with suggestions that include: dining on free samples provided at local supermarkets and warehouse stores, and to become familiar with indigenous roots, berries, and other protein sources available at their destination.
I hope our investors read the policy so they realize how frugal we are! Mr. Lee wrote in the e-mail.
