Stephen Ma joined LGM Investments as head of Greater China equities and senior portfolio manager, a spokeswoman said.
Mr. Ma replaced Pamela Chan, who retired in October, the spokeswoman said.
Mr. Ma is based in Hong Kong, and reports to Thomas Vester, chief investment officer at LGM. LGM is a subsidiary of BMO Global Asset Management and manages global emerging, Asian and frontier markets allocations. LGM has $2.8 billion in assets under management.
Mr. Ma was previously a portfolio manager covering Hong Kong equities at Fidelity Worldwide Investment. He was replaced by Oscar Leung in August, a spokesman for Fidelity said.
Barry McInerney, co-CEO of BMO Global Asset Management, said in a news release from LGM that the appointment “reinforces (BMO’s) commitment to growing our business worldwide.”
