Chris Rule joined London Pensions Fund Authority as chief investment officer, said a spokesman for the pension fund.
Mr. Rule replaces Alex Gracian, who left the pension fund in May.
Mr. Rule is responsible for managing the pension fund's £4.9 billion ($7.7 billion) of assets, developing the investment strategy and overseeing the in-house investment team.
Mr. Rule was previously head of alternatives at SEB Investment Management. Spokesmen for SEB could not be reached for comment by press time.
