Cheryl Lynette Hines will join the Texas Teacher Retirement System on Dec. 1 as director of the $129 billion fund's emerging managers program.
Ms. Hines will have oversight of the development and management of the Austin-based fund's $2 billion program, said Juliana Fernandez Helton, spokeswoman, in an e-mail.
Ms. Hines replaces Stuart Bernstein, who left TRS in July to join real estate investment firm CapRidge Partners.
Ms. Hines was interim senior investment officer for Private Family Trust.
