Michael Walden-Newman is joining the Nebraska Investment Council as state investment officer, he said.
Mr. Walden-Newman will join the Lincoln-based council, which oversees $21.7 billion in assets, on Dec. 8. He replaces Jeffrey W. States, who retired from the council on Sept. 30.
Mr. Walden-Newman is currently chief investment officer of the Wyoming State Loan and Investment Board, Cheyenne, which oversees the state's $11 billion in permanent funds, including the $6 billion Permanent Mineral Trust Fund. Information regarding his replacement was not immediately available.
Joseph P. Jurich, the investment council's deputy state investment officer, has been serving as acting state investment officer since Mr. States' retirement.
