Wynnchurch Capital closed its fourth private equity fund, the $1.2 billion Wynnchurch Capital Partners IV, in two months of fundraising, said John Hatherly, managing partner.
Wynnchurch Capital Partners IV was oversubscribed, exceeding its $900 million target, he said. To accommodate the increased amount of capital, Wynnchurch will be hiring four to six more executives in a variety of roles including investment and marketing, he said.
Wynnchurch will maintain its strategy of investing in middle-market companies in the U.S. and Canada with significant growth potential.
Investors in the latest fund include the $21.7 billion Nebraska Investment Council, Lincoln, and the $23 billion Texas County & District Retirement System, Austin.
Wynnchurch raised $603 million for its third fund.
