Tom Dorner and Jonathan Fearon joined the European equities team at Standard Life Investments, a spokeswoman said.
Their appointments increase the number on the European equities team to 12 people. Both report to Will James, portfolio manager of the Standard Life Investments European Equity Income Fund.
Mr. Dorner’s position is new. He is investment director, responsible for analyzing insurance companies and firms across other sectors. Mr. Dorner previously was director of the European insurance sector at Citigroup, according to a news release from SLI. Spokeswomen for Citigroup could not be reached for comment by press time.
Mr. Fearon fills a role left vacant by Jaime Ramos Martin, who left the firm in April, the spokeswoman said. Further details were not available by press time. Mr. Fearon will manage the Standard Life Investments European Equity Growth Fund, and the European equity component of the firm’s Global Advantage Fund. He also analyzes the European banking sector.
Mr. Fearon previously was a European equity manager at Ignis Asset Management, which was acquired by Standard Life Investments in March.
Standard Life Investments has £260.3 billion ($414 billion) in assets under management.
