Maryland State Retirement & Pension System, Baltimore, hired executive search firm Heidrick & Struggles to find a new chief investment officer for the $44.7 billion pension fund.
A. Melissa Moye resigned Aug. 4 to become a senior policy adviser with the Treasury Department’s office of state and local finance. Deputy CIO Robert Burd is serving as acting CIO.
“We hope to have candidates to consider for the position early in 2015,” said pension fund spokesman Michael Golden. Heidrick & Struggles’ contract is for 24 months and is not to exceed $90,000.
