New York University endowment returned 13.7% for its fiscal year ended Aug. 31, ending the year with $3.5 billion in total endowment assets, the university reported.
At fiscal year-end, the endowment's asset allocation was 54% equities, 24% opportunistic and credit investments, 12% fixed income and 10% real assets.
The endowment saw a 15-year annualized return of 6.5%.
Over the past 20 years, the value of NYU's endowment fund has compounded at about 9% per year, due to net inflows and performance. Spending policy distributions from the fund currently amount to more than $120 million in annual operating support and in the past two decades have totaled more than $1.7 billion.
