Carmen Heredia-Lopez was named director of investments at the W.K. Kellogg Foundation, Battle Creek, Mich., effective Dec. 1, said Omar Hussain, spokesman for the $8.3 billion foundation.
It is a new position.
Ms. Heredia-Lopez will report to Joel Wittenberg, vice president and chief investment officer.
Ms. Heredia-Lopez is currently the CIO of the $10.8 billion Chicago Public School Teachers’ Pension & Retirement Fund. A replacement has not been determined. Once the pension fund selects a new executive director, he or she will be responsible for finding a replacement CIO, said Frances Radencic, director of member and office services at the pension fund.
Kevin B. Huber is resigning as executive director of the pension fund, effective Dec. 31. Mr. Huber was diagnosed with cancer in January and has been on medical leave since May. Peter A. Driscoll is currently serving as the pension fund’s interim executive director.
