Allan MacLeod joined Old Mutual Global Investors as head of international distribution, a spokeswoman said.
The position is new. Mr. MacLeod reports to Warren Tonkinson, head of global distribution, and is responsible for expanding the £17 billion ($27.2 billion) manager’s presence in the global financial institutions and international sectors.
“(Mr. MacLeod) will now play a leading role in helping us expand our share of the global financial institutions sector, as well as helping us to achieve our goal of expanding into selected markets to support its global client base, through asset management and distribution capabilities based in our chosen international markets,” Mr. Tonkinson said in a news release.
Mr. MacLeod was head of global accounts at Ignis Asset Management, spending two years building the business in the Middle East, Japan, Asia, Australia and North America, according to the news release. A spokeswoman for Standard Life Investments, parent company of Ignis, did not comment beyond the contents of OMGI’s release.
