Chicago Laborers’ Annuity & Benefit Fund plans to issue an RFP for an international equity manager, according to recently released minutes of the $1.4 billion pension fund’s Sept. 16 board meeting.
The RFP will be posted on the defined benefit plan’s website.
As of June 30, the pension fund had $179 million in international equity, or 12.4% of total assets, according to information on the website. Baillie Gifford, Wasatch Advisors and Thomas White International are the current international equity managers.
NEPC, the pension fund’s investment consultant, is assisting.
The timing of the RFP, size of the mandate and funding source were not indicated in the minutes. Michael Walsh, executive director, did not reply to requests for further details.
