Institutional Shareholder Services introduced an enhanced version of its global corporate governance scoring analytics for asset owners and other institutional investors, expanding by almost 10% the companies covered to 4,500, and adding markets in Brazil, Russia and South Africa, said Subodh Mishra, ISS vice president, communications, on Wednesday.
Quickscore 3.0, an update of a previous version, assists investors in decision-making by identifying and measuring corporate governance risk across companies in their portfolio.
It measures a company’s level of corporate governance risk both overall and on four individual factors: board structure, compensation and remuneration, shareholder rights, and audit-and-risk oversight. A review of any of the factors might point to underlying symptoms of a larger problem in management or culture, a company statement said.
ISS plans to add to the analytics platform the markets of India, China and South Korea in the first quarter of next year, the statement said.
