Princeton University's endowment posted a 19.6% return on investment for the fiscal year ended June 30, Martin Mbugua, a university spokesman, confirmed Friday.
The endowment ended the fiscal year at $21 billion, up $2.8 billion, or 15.4% from the previous fiscal year, according to a university news release. Mr. Mbugua declined to provide details on the endowment's performance or strategy.
Princeton University Investment Co., which manages the endowment, certified the results at its directors' meeting Oct. 16, the news release said.
The 10-year annualize return on the endowment was 10.5%, which placed Princeton “among the top percentile of 520 institutions” reporting to the Wilshire Trust Universe Comparison Service, the news release said.
