Jeffrey Lagarce was named president of Pyramis Global Advisors, said company spokesman Jeff Cathie.
Effective Jan. 1, he replaces Michael Jones, who plans to leave the company at the end of the year. His plans after leaving Pyramis haven't been determined.
Mr. Lagarce will oversee the investment management and distribution divisions of Pyramis Global Advisors. He will report to Charlie Morrison, president of Fidelity Investments' asset management unit.
Mr. Lagarce was previously at Fidelity Worldwide Investment in London, where he was global head of the institutional business, including defined contribution, for the U.K., Europe, Asia and the Middle East. Chuck McKenzie, head of Fidelity's global institutional solutions group, will replace Mr. Lagarce effective Jan. 1.
Pyramis Global Advisors is a subsidiary of Fidelity Investments with $214 billion in assets under management as of June 30.
