Orlando (Fla.) Pension Funds hired Artisan Partners to manage a total of $150 million in active international equities for its three pension funds, said Michele Keane, the city's pension coordinator.
The pension funds, which have a combined $1.3 billion in assets, conducted an invitation-only search earlier this year following the termination of Thornburg Investment Management due to underperformance and organizational changes.
Other finalists were EARNEST Partners, MFS Investment Management and Neuberger Berman.
Thornburg spokeswomen Rebecca Carrier did not return a phone call seeking comment by press time.
The three pension funds are the Orlando Firefighters' Pension Fund, Orlando General Employees' Pension Fund, and Orlando Police Pension Fund.
Investment consultant NEPC assisted.
