Christian Menegatti was named chief investment strategist at Windhaven Investment Management, Boston, said a company spokeswoman.
He will replace DeFred Folts, who plans to retire at the end of the year. Messrs. Folts and Menegatti will serve as co-chief investment strategists until that time.
Mr. Menegatti will provide analysis to help influence the firm's investment strategies and global tactical asset allocation approach to asset management. He will also join Windhaven's investment committee. He will report to Bryan Olson, president of Windhaven Investment Management.
Mr. Menegatti was managing director and global head of research at Roubini Global Economics. His responsibilities have been assumed by various members of the firm's research team, said company spokeswoman Leila Tachmamedova.
Windhaven Investment Management is a subsidiary of Charles Schwab Corp. with $18 billion in assets under management.
