Where can Londoners go to hear the likes of Ben Bernanke and Larry Summers give their views on the economy? To the new heart of the U.K. capital's Jewish community.
The Alan Howard Foundation has teamed up with JW3 — a new community and cultural venue in North London for London's Jewish community and the local area— to launch its inaugural “Speaker Series.” The venue will host six events in the next few months.
The first, taking place Oct. 23, will see Ben S. Bernanke, former chairman of the Federal Reserve, in conversation with Jason Cummins, chief U.S. economist and head of research at hedge fund Brevan Howard Asset Management LLP. A spokesman for Brevan Howard said tickets sold out “extremely quickly.” But there might still be time to grab a seat to see Lawrence H. Summers, former U.S. Treasury Secretary, give his views on the economy and predictions for 2015, on Jan. 20.
Established by Alan Howard, co-founder of Brevan Howard Asset Management LLP, in 2010, the Geneva-registered foundation has donated more than $25 million to a number of charitable intiatives across the globe.
