Roger Bridges, Andre Severino and John Vail were given expanded roles within Nikko Asset Management’s investment team.
London-based Mr. Severino becomes head of fixed income for the U.S. and Europe. He will also join the team that manages global macro strategies. He is currently senior portfolio manager of Nikko’s sovereign fixed-income series, according to a news release by the firm. He has also been acting chief investment officer for Europe.
Mr. Bridges has been named global rates and currencies strategist. Based in Sydney, he has most recently been providing macroeconomic research and strategic direction to the Australia fixed-income team as head of Australian fixed-income strategy. His new role will see him work with the global investment committee at Nikko on macro and market target views, the release said.
Mr. Vail, currently chief global strategist, will lead Nikko’s global investment committee process and thought-leadership effort. The new position will see him relocate to New York from Tokyo.
“In response to the growing needs of our clients, building out our global investment capability has been a priority for us over the past year,” said Yu-Ming Wang, global head of investment of Nikko Asset Management, in the release. “We have brought on highly talented individuals and teams from outside the firm, and now we are appointing some of our most experienced individuals to lead areas that will be increasingly important to us going forward.”
