Henrik Heideby resigned as CEO of Danish pensions provider PFA Pension, a spokesman said.
Mr. Heideby had been CEO for more than 13 years, and is leaving the 425 billion Danish kroner ($72.4 billion) firm to expand his portfolio of directorships, and to provide strategic advice.
The PFA’s board has started a process to find a replacement, and expects to have a new CEO in place by the end of the year.
Mr. Heideby said in an e-mailed statement that his directorship work “is not compatible with the job as CEO.”
Further details were not available by press time.
