Peter Horrell was appointed managing director of Fidelity Worldwide Investment’s U.K. business, a spokeswoman said.
Mr. Horrell will start April 1. At that time, he will replace the interim managing director for the U.K., James Burton, chief marketing officer, personal investing at Fidelity Investments in the U.S. He has filled the interim role since March.
“(Mr. Horrell) has the breadth of experience and talent to ensure that we complete our investment program and transform our business into the best customer-focused financial services business in the U.K.,” said Thomas Balk, president, financial services at Fidelity Worldwide Investment, in a news release. “The opportunities for growth in our U.K. business have never been better.”

Mr. Horrell was previously CEO of wealth and investment management at Barclays PLC. A spokeswoman for Barclays could not be reached for comment by press time.
