Ian Ormiston joined Old Mutual Global Investors as a fund manager in the U.K. and European equities team, a spokeswoman said.
It is a new position. Mr. Ormiston reports to Richard Buxton, head of U.K. equities.
Mr. Ormiston focuses on European smaller companies; OMGI plans to develop and launch a new European smaller companies fund.
Mr. Ormiston previously was European equities portfolio manager at Ignis Asset Management, which was acquired by Standard Life Investments in March. A spokeswoman for SLI could not be reached for comment by press time.
