Edward Bang joined BlackRock on Tuesday as head of multiasset strategies Asia-Pacific.
The Hong Kong-based position is new, a BlackRock spokeswoman said.
Mr. Bang was head strategist, Asia-Pacific, for UBS Global Asset Management's multiasset class focused global investment solutions business. UBS spokesman Rob Stewart confirmed Mr. Bang's departure but declined to comment further.
Mr. Bang will report to Ryan Stork, BlackRock senior managing director and Hong Kong-based head of Asia-Pacific, and Ken Kroner, senior managing director and global head of multiasset strategies.
Also, Andrew Landman, BlackRock's Sydney-based head of institutional client businesses, has taken on the added role of head of the firm's alternatives investment strategy group for the Asia-Pacific region, said spokeswoman Cynthia Ng.
Mr. Landman replaces Joseph Pacini in the alternatives role.
Mr. Pacini will leave BlackRock in November for personal reasons, and has decided to return to the U.S. with his family, Ms. Ng said.
