Arizona Public Safety Personnel Retirement System, Phoenix, made a total of up to $355 million in new commitments and co-investments, said Mark Steed, chief of staff and lead portfolio manager.
The $7.9 billion pension fund committed $75 million to Davidson Kempner Special Opportunities Fund II, a distressed credit fund managed by Davidson Kempner Capital Management.
Also, the pension fund committed up to $50 million directly and $50 million in potential co-investments to opportunistic credit fund Melody Capital Partners Onshore Credit Fund; and up to $50 million directly and $20 million in potential co-investments to Orion Mine Finance Fund I, a private equity fund formerly known as RK Mine Finance Fund II.
The pension fund also committed up to $40 million directly and $20 million in potential co-investments to real estate fund Iron Point Real Estate Partners III, managed by Iron Point Partners.
In addition, the pension fund committed up to $30 million to Charlesbank Equity Fund VIII, a private equity fund managed by Charlesbank Capital Partners, and up to $20 million to private equity fund Baring Asia Private Equity Fund VI.
