Rhode Island State Investment Commission, Providence, made two new private equity fund investments totaling up to $60 million, said Ashley Gingerella O'Shea, spokeswoman for Rhode Island Treasurer Gina Raimondo, who oversees the commission.
The state investment commission, which manages the $7.7 billion Rhode Island Employees' Retirement System, Providence, approved a commitment of up to $30 million to Sorenson Capital Partners III, a buyout fund.
The commission also committed $30 million to Centerbridge Capital Partners III, a private debt fund managed by Centerbridge Partners.
This is the first time the commission has invested in a Sorenson fund. It previously invested with Centerbridge.
