Scott Vali was named vice president and equity portfolio manager at CIBC Asset Management, and Sara Shahram was named associate portfolio manager, equities, a news release said.
Mr. Vali will oversee CIBC Asset’s precious metals, Canadian resources, energy and global resources strategies. Those strategies had been subadvised by Front Street Capital. He was a portfolio manager for Signature Global Asset Management, a subsidiary of wealth manager CI Investments. Ms. Shahram was an analyst at Signature Global.
Separately, Brent Reuter was named vice president, institutional business development. He was managing director at RBC Investor & Treasury Services.

CIBC Asset Management had C$95 billion (US$85.2 billion) in assets under management as of March 31, mostly for institutional clients.
