Oregon Investment Council, Tigard, which runs the $68.2 billion Oregon Public Employees Retirement Fund, Salem, invested $2 billion with Dimensional Fund Advisors for a domestic large-cap core equity allocation, spokesman Michael Cox said in an e-mail.
Callan Associates, the council’s general investment consultant, and staff recommended in a memo to the council that it reserves the option to increase the portfolio to $4 billion subject to the approval of Chief Investment Officer John Skjervem.
Separately, the council at its Sept. 24 meeting extended the contract of TorreyCove Capital Partners, its private equity investment consultant, by one year to Dec. 31, 2015.
The council also made a private equity commitment of $50 million to Galton Onshore Mortgage Recovery Fund III managed by Galton Capital Group.
