Nebraska Investment Council, Lincoln, made three new commitments totaling $85 million, said Jeffrey W. States, state investment officer.
The council, which oversees $21.7 billion in assets, committed $30 million to private equity fund Wynnchurch Capital Partners IV. It is the council’s first commitment to a Wynnchurch Capital fund.
Also, the council committed $30 million to Quantum Energy Partners VI, a natural resources-focused private equity fund; the council committed $20 million to Quantum Energy Partners V.
The council also committed €20 million ($25 million) to Bridgepoint Europe V, a European buyout fund; the council committed €20 million to Bridgepoint Europe IV.
Separately, the council named Joseph P. Jurich, deputy state investment officer, as acting state investment officer effective with Mr. States’ retirement Tuesday, Mr. States said.
Mr. States also said the council is holding a special meeting Oct. 10 to interview finalists for a permanent successor.
