Fred Dopfel and Duncan Shand joined Schroders as senior advisers for its multiasset business, said a spokeswoman.
The roles are new. Mr. Dopfel is senior adviser to the U.S. multiasset business. He is a professor at the School of Business and Leadership at the Dominican University of California. Prior to that, he worked at BlackRock.
Mr. Shand, who joins the London-based business, is also a professor at the Warwick Business School at the University of Warwick. He has also held roles at BlackRock.
Both will retain their respective roles at the universities.
“As senior advisers, (Messrs. Shand and Dopfel) will work alongside our senior fund managers in London, New York, Hong Kong and Sydney to further strengthen our thought leadership around risk premia and risk controlled growth investing,” said Nico Marais, head of multiasset investments and portfolio solutions at Schroders, in a news release.
Schroders' multiasset business has $98 billion of assets.
