Michael L. Ford was named senior vice president and U.S. head of consultant relations at Amundi Smith Breeden, spokeswoman Robin Schoen said.
The position is new. Mr. Ford is the liaison to the U.S. consultant community, responsible for keeping consultants updated on the firm's activities, strategies and performance. He is based in Amundi Smith Breeden's headquarters in Durham, N.C., and report to Stephen A. Eason, senior executive vice president and director of marketing and client service.
Mr. Ford was a senior investment consultant at RVK. The firm is not currently seeking a replacement for Mr. Ford, confirmed RVK spokesman David Nute.
Amundi Smith Breeden parent company Amundi had €800 billion ($1.019 trillion) in asset under management as of June 30.
