Steve Geist, president and CEO of CIBC Asset Management, was named senior executive vice president and group head, wealth management, at parent Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce.
He replaced Victor Dodig, who was named CEO of the bank in July.
Mr. Geist will retain his duties as president and CEO of the bank’s money management arm, said Caroline Van Hasselt, CIBC spokeswoman.
CIBC Asset Management had C$95 billion (US$85.6 billion) in assets under management as of March 31, mostly for institutional clients.
