Since 1983, the number of U.S. workers covered only by a defined benefit pension plan has fallen to 17% from 62% in 2013, according to an issue brief released by the Center for Retirement Research released Monday.
Those covered by only a defined contribution plan has risen to 71% from 12% over the same period. Only 13% of workers were covered by both a DB and DC plan in 2013.
