Mahboob Hossain joined the $298 billion California Public Employees' Retirement System, Sacramento, as a senior portfolio manager, said Joe DeAnda, CalPERS spokesman in an e-mail.
Mr. Hossain will head a new unit, the private equity co-investment committee. He previously was a private equity portfolio manager at the $186.6 billion California State Teachers' Retirement System, West Sacramento.
He has not yet been replaced at CalSTRS, said Ricardo Duran, CalSTRS spokesman, in an e-mail. CalSTRS officials are recruiting for the position.
