Luba Nikulina was appointed global head of manager research at Towers Watson, said a spokeswoman for the consulting firm.
Ms. Nikulina replaces Craig Baker, who was named global chief investment officer in June. She was previously global head of private markets research. Details on a replacement for Ms. Nikulina were not available by press time.
The firm is restructuring the manager research team under Ms. Nikulina’s leadership. Mr. Baker said in a news release. “The new structure will enhance our ability to compare mandates of a similar nature such as long-only equity and long/short equity, or indeed public and private equity,” he said. “It will also create better alignment between our research efforts and portfolio construction process.”
The consultant will establish three global research capabilities: equity, led by Jim MacLachlan; credit, led by Chris Redmond; and diversifying strategies, led by Damien Loveday.
Messrs. MacLachlan and Redmond are already in their positions. Mr. Loveday was previously head of the hedge , which has been renamed and includes various hedge fund strategies, real estate, infrastructure, agriculture and timber.
