Peruvemba Satish was named senior vice president at American Century Investments, said spokesman Chris Doyle.
It is a new position. Mr. Satish, who started on Tuesday, oversees the firm’s global portfolio analytics and engineering team.
Mr. Satish is responsible for the “evaluation of macro and global risk factors to determine the potential impact on individual holdings and portfolios,” according to a news release. Additionally, he will work the investment management and product development teams to develop new investment strategies.
Mr. Satish will report to David MacEwen, co-chief investment officer.
Previously, Mr. Satish was a senior managing director and portfolio manager at Allstate Corp.

As of Aug. 31, American Century Investments had $145 billion in assets under management.
