Environment Agency Pension Fund, Bristol, England, is searching for one to three global ESG equity managers to run a total of between £75 million ($123 million) and £250 million, said Dawn Turner, head of pension fund management, in an e-mail.
The £2.4 billion pension fund is looking for managers to run on a three- to 10-year term a portfolio of global equities that include “the ability to integrate environmental, social and governance considerations broadly into the portfolio and to take a long-term, strategic approach to sustainability,” said a notice on European procurement website Tenders Electronic Daily.
Ms. Turner said the search is being conducted due to personnel changes at current manager Sarasin & Partners, and also “after 10 years it was time to revisit the market.” Sarasin is invited to rebid. The size of Sarasin's portfolio could not be learned by press time.
An RFP is available at the pension fund's procurement website. Registration is required. Proposals are due at 4 p.m. British Summer Time on Sept. 24. The pension fund hopes to make a decision by the end of the year, with a manager or managers in place by the end of the fiscal year on March 31, 2015.
