Chris Chan Suk Lee joined Threadneedle Investments in Seoul as Korea chief representative with the London-based firm’s newly opened representative office there, said June Wong, vice chairman, Asia-Pacific, and CEO, Hong Kong.
In an interview, Ms. Wong said Mr. Lee will build a team in Seoul as Threadneedle’s business there grows. He will promote Threadneedle’s name, head up its market research efforts and engage in liaison-type activities, she said.
Ms. Wong said Threadneedle will initially focus on Korean institutional investors, including sovereign wealth funds, pension funds and financial institutions.
Mr. Lee was senior general manager at Samsung Asset Management; a spokesman couldn’t immediately be reached for comment on how Mr. Lee will be replaced.
