San Bernardino County (Calif.) Employees’ Retirement Association launched a search for two to three managers to run a total of $100 million to $200 million in active emerging markets equities, said an RFP issued Friday.
Officials at the $8.1 billion pension fund are potentially seeking managers for two allocations: a top-down portfolio and an unconstrained small/midcap equity portfolio.
The pension fund’s general investment consultant, NEPC, is assisting.
The RFP is available on NEPC’s website. Responses to the RFP are due at 3 p.m. EDT Sept. 30. Finalist selection is expected in the first quarter of 2015.
Separately, the investment committee at its Aug. 12 meeting approved hiring Chantico Global for asset allocation and market research on an ongoing basis, according to a report for the Sept. 4 board meeting.
Donald Pierce, SBCERA’s chief investment officer, could not be reached by deadline for more information.
