Tom Spencer was named executive director of the $14.1 billion Oklahoma Teachers' Retirement System, Oklahoma City, effective Nov. 1, he said in a telephone interview.
Mr. Spencer is currently the executive director at the $8.5 billion Oklahoma Public Employees Retirement System, Oklahoma City.
Mr. Spencer was named the interim director of OTRS in March. He replaced James Wilbanks, who was terminated by the board in October. Mr. Spencer will continue to split his time between both roles through September and possibly into October, he said.
OPERS will begin the process of replacing Mr. Spencer as soon as possible, according to a news release from the pension fund.
