Alabama Trust Fund, Montgomery, hired Artisan Partners Asset Management, Invesco, Lazard Asset Management, and Thompson, Siegel & Walmsley to run an undetermined amount in active international equity, said the $2.8 billion trust fund's recently released board meeting minutes.
The allocation to be run by each manager was not set, according to the minutes. That will be determined by the investment committee of the trust fund, assisted by investment consultant Callan Associates.
The funding source could not be learned.
The trust fund, a sovereign wealth fund from the state's oil and gas royalties, issued an RFP for international equity managers on March 10.
The trust fund's international equity managers as of June 30 were AllianceBernstein; QS Investors; Grantham, Mayo, Van Otterloo & Co.; Thornburg Investment Management and Wells Fargo Asset Management, according to a report for the fund from Callan.
Glenda Allred, Alabama deputy treasurer, could not provide further information.
