Jaka Prasetya joined KKR & Co. in Singapore as a managing director to lead KKR's efforts in Indonesia.
The position is new. Mr. Prasetya will also lead KKR's credit and special situations initiatives in Southeast Asia, the firm said in a news release.
Mr. Prasetya was managing partner at Singapore-based Leafgreen Capital Partners, a provider of mezzanine and structured growth financing that he founded in 2011. Leafgreen focused on financing midcap companies in Indonesia, Malaysia and Singapore, the KKR news release said.
Also joining KKR from Leafgreen are Rahul Bhargava and Allan So as directors; both served at Leafgreen as managing directors and partners.
Leafgreen will be closed. A receptionist at Leafgreen said Tuesday Mr. Prasetya and his colleagues weren't available for comment.
KKR announced its first investment in Indonesia in July 2013, acquiring a 9.5% stake in PT Tiga Pilar Sejahtera Food Tbk, a Jakarta-based manufacturer and distributor of food products.
Ming Lu, co-head of Asia private equity with KKR, said in the release the addition of Messrs. Prasetya, Bhargava and So “greatly enhances our ability to partner with Indonesia companies.”
