Clive Brown has been named CEO and managing director of RBC Global Asset Management International.
The London-based position is new.
Mr. Brown will oversee Toronto-based RBC GAM’s business in Europe, the Middle East, Africa and the Asia-Pacific region, with the exception of affiliate BlueBay Asset Management.
Mr. Brown will start Oct. 1 and report to John Montalbano, CEO of RBC Global Asset Management.
Mr. Brown ended a more than two-decade stint with J.P. Morgan Asset Management two years ago, when he resigned as the firm's global chief operating officer and its Hong Kong-based chairman of Asia.
Since then, Mr. Brown was fully retired until January 2014 when he became a non-executive director of USS Investment Management, a spokeswoman for RBC said. He will step down from USS Investment’s board when he takes on his new role with RBC GAM International.
RBC GAM and its money management affiliates had US$305 billion in assets under management as of April 30.
