West Palm Beach (Fla.) Police Pension Fund hired New Amsterdam Partners to manage about $23 million in active domestic smidcap equities, said John McCann, senior consultant at Thistle Asset Consulting, investment consultant to the $259 million pension fund, in an e-mail.
Funding will come from 50% reductions in the portfolios of active domestic midcap equity managers Anchor Capital Advisors and Oak Ridge Investments, leaving each manager with about $11.5 million.
Other finalists were Atlanta Capital Management Co. and Great Lakes Advisors.
Mr. McCann did not reply to requests for further information. David Williams, plan administrator, referred questions to Mr. McCann.
